Medical Assistant/Chaperone

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Assistant or someone with a year of direct patient care who could be trained as a Medical Chaperone to join our team! This is a full-time, first shift position, working 4 days a week, no weekends, no call, or holidays. This position supports both our Waukesha and Oconomowoc Clinics. The clinic hours are Monday-Thursdays 7:30am-6pm, and Fridays 7:30am-4pm.

Summary: Responsible for providing professional care as a liaison between patients and physicians. You will assist during a patient visit to ensure the patient and provider are comfortable, safe, and secure during exams or procedures as a Medical Assistant or trained observer (Medical Chaperone).  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Assists physician/provider in preparation of patients for exam.  
  • Assist and/or observe the provider with examinations and various procedures as required including proper handling of specimen collection
Additional Medical Assistant duties once trained may include:
  • Intake of health information including vitals.
  • Manages daily office duties; medication refills, result notifications, documentation within EMR
  • Collaborates regarding plan of care, facilitating follow-up, and administration of medications/ injections under guidance of provider or nurse.
  • Provides appropriate teaching to patients and family as directed. Acts as patient advocate, assessing learning needs of patients.
  • Oversees smooth progression of daily patient schedules, monitoring patient flow, and assists patients scheduling appointments as needed. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: 

  • The completion of a Medical Assistant training program or having worked as a Medical Assistant for at least a year. Current CPR certification. 
  • At least a year of hands-on patient care to be considered for the Medical Chaperone role.  We can train the right person to become a Medical Assistant.
  • Previous OB-GYN experience helpful but not required.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Electronic Medical Records. EPIC experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and time management skills

Sonographer

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize clinical and technical knowledge to obtain high-quality sonographic images 
  • Create detailed patient worksheets to provide physicians with accurate diagnostic images for interpretation 
  • Promote a smooth flow of patients to create a calm and supportive atmosphere 

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: 

  • Registered Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in OB-GYN 
  • 1 year OB-GYN scanning experience preferred 
  • EPIC experience preferred, but not required 
  • Self-motivated and organized to work in a fast-paced environment at an elevated level 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Utilize clinical and technical knowledge to obtain high-quality sonographic images 
  • Create detailed patient worksheets to provide physicians with accurate diagnostic images for interpretation 
  • Promote a smooth flow of patients to create a calm and supportive atmosphere
