Prolapse Repair Procedure

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) is usually treated first with nonsurgical options, but if the symptoms persist and are severe, surgical measures can be taken to restore the organs to their original positions.

When tissue and muscles are no longer able to support pelvic organs, the organs drop down, which causes the following symptoms:

  • A bulge in the vagina or organs bulging out of the vagina
  • A feeling of fullness or pelvic pressure
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Lower back pain
  • Problems having a bowel movement
  • Problems of inserting tampons or applicators
