Your First Prenatal
Visit With Your Doctor

Your first prenatal visit with your doctor will occur at about 10 weeks. Many women prefer to bring their partner or a family member with them for this visit. At this appointment, we will discuss any specific health issues which could affect the course of your prenatal care and/or delivery. We will review your estimated due date and any abnormal lab results from your screening labs. Additional genetic screenings will be considered and, if desired, we will coordinate with scheduling for these tests. We are able to answer any questions you may have at this or any visit. This first visit with your doctor will include a physical examination that includes a pelvic exam and listening for the baby’s heartbeat. At the end of the visit, we will determine when your next appointment should be scheduled.
