All About Hartland

Hartland’s story began with a man named Stephen (of the Sylvanus Warren family) who purchased roughly 245 acres in the Hartland area in 1839. As the city grew in popularity, more and more settlers moved to the area and it quickly prospered to become a community with a post office, baseball diamond, and even a race track. Hartland’s first local paper—The Hartland Index—was introduced in 1886 and still continues today under the name: The Lake Country Reporter. If you’re planning to spend a day in Hartland, we recommend you visit Nixon Park. It’s a beautiful spot for hikers, fishers, and families—there’s a playground, walking trails, band shell for community concerts, fishing area, splash pad, and beer garden. You won’t be disappointed when you visit the stunning Hartland area.

Driving Directions to Hartland

Leaving from Pewaukee? Start out heading west on I-94 West for 7 miles and then take Exit 287 for WI-83 toward Hartland/Wales. Turn right onto WI-83 North and continue for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto Walnut Ridge Drive and you will see us on the left.

If you live in Sussex, start out driving west on Main Street/Silver Spring Drive, turn left onto WI-164 South, and then turn right onto Lisbon Road. Take a left onto Lynndale Road after half a mile, turn left again onto High Road/Ryan Road, and then turn right to merge onto WI-16 West. Continue on WI-16 West for 4.2 miles before taking Exit 181 for WI-83 toward Delafield/Chenequa and then turn left onto WI-83 South after 1.8 miles. Take a final left onto Walnut Ridge Drive and you will see us on the left.

Coming from Wales? Head west on West Main Street, turn right onto North Wales Road/Waukesha E and then take the second exit at the roundabout onto WI-83 North. Continue on WI-83 North for 5 miles before turning right onto Walnut Ridge Drive. You will see us on the left.

If you’re in the Dousman area, drive north on North Main Street, turn right onto US-18 East, and continue for 4.5 miles. At the first roundabout, stay straight to continue on US-18 East. At the second roundabout, take the third exit onto WI-83 North and follow for 5.1 miles. Take a right onto Walnut Ridge Drive and you will see us on the left.
